Parks and Recreation Management SoftwareVSI was founded in 1985 and in 1988 decided to specialize in developing recreation management software for recreation and parks departments following a successful bid at the City of New Britain, CT. The challenges leading up to this successful bid, together with the work that was required to complete the project, best illustrate what VSI is today.  Since 1989, VSI has focused on providing a broad range of solutions for the recreation and parks market only.

In 1993, VSI opened a second related market when it signed a contract with the Air Force to provide recreation software for all bases worldwide. This contract; along with similar subsequent Army, Navy, and Marine contracts; provided a substantial boost to the growth of VSI.

Today VSI has over 1100 customers including over 900 municipal and county agencies, over 60 colleges/universities, several private organizations, and all U.S. Army, Navy, and Marine bases worldwide, as well as many Air Force bases.
